Trinity welcomes back
Chap clark
This
month Trinity is pleased and privileged to welcome one of the
country’s leading voices on parent/teen relationships.
Dr. Chap Clark
will be here
Monday, January 18 at 6:30 p.m.
Chap is a professor of Youth, Family, and Culture at Fuller Seminary,
senior editor of
Youthworker Journal,
and a contributing writer for
Sojourners Magazine.
Dr.
Clark has also authored several books on parent-teen relationships and
dynamics such as:
The Next Time I Fall in Love
Let Me Ask You This
The Performance Illusion
Boys to Men
Daughters and Dads
From Father to Son
Hurt: Inside the World of Today’s Teenagers
Everything Is Broken
Chap
is also a gifted and engaging speaker who has spoken around the
country for the past 25 years.
Chap
is no stranger to Trinity. He spoke for our Family Extravaganzas in
1997 and 2002. It was during his last visit here to Trinity that a
well-respected social worker from our school system commented, “Every
parent and every teacher in this school district needs to hear what
this man has to say!”
This
time, our area teachers will get that opportunity! Chap will be doing
an in-service with all teachers (K-12) through our school district
during the day. Then, that evening he’ll be here for a session open to
the entire community.
His
topic is “ParenTeen: Bridging the gap between teens and their
parents.” This seminar equips parents to understand and nurture their
children in a constantly changing cultural environment. It will speak
to parents as stewardship from God. The focus will be on how God calls
parents to respond to their children in a highly secular and
fragmented culture. It will also address what biblical discipleship
looks like in the teen years and how parents who have an authentic
faith have the best chance of leading their children into a lifetime
commitment to God and his kingdom work.
This
session is
free of charge in partnership with Young Life.
Please don’t miss this wonderful opportunity, and
do bring friends, family members, and all who work with kids!
The session will go
from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.
We hope to see you here on the 18th!
